I also share the ups and downs of launching various businesses, particularly in the CBD industry, and the struggle to find financial stability while staying true to my mission of healing a billion people by 2025. Through persistent prayer and faith, I eventually returned to my original calling of helping people convert high-ticket offers, leading to the successful launch of Convert High Ticket.

I had the challenge quickly, but I did it. I did the thing. We went live. We had it on Zoom. I even had it on what was called deadline funnels. So we had like countdown timers. You can hear in the background maybe some waves. I'm out here in sunny Ventura, California. We've got these wild mustard seeds growing on the hills out here overlooking the pier. And just a beautiful day. And I wanted to talk about something that's been on my mind for a while now. And it's, we talk about roots to riches, we talk about blessing our health and blessing our wealth. And one of the things that I've found that's blessed me is getting in alignment with my assignment. And that's a line that Dr. Myron Golden likes to use. and actually I get a chance to go hang out with Myron later on this month. He's got a cool event going on in Dallas and we're gonna go hang down there. Might even bring my golf clubs and maybe we'll chase the ball around a little bit on the old links. That's how we first met. many moons ago. So anyways, I want to talk about something that has worked for me, and as I'm trying to get in alignment with my assignment, is the Our Father prayer, which Jesus Christ himself taught us when he was walking amongst us some 2,000 years ago. And there are some specific lines that I want to go over that I've been praying a lot and my faith is really as strong as it's ever been, as deep as it's ever been. And some of that traces back to You know, when COVID hit and this whole world opened up, this digital virtual world just exploded. And, you know, in transitioning from the physical world to the virtual world, that's when I started joining Masterminds and found Russell Brunson. And one of the first Masterminds I went to, in fact, his Mastermind that I showed up in person to, there was a person who came on stage and spoke, and his name was Daryl Eaves, and he's the executive producer of the show called The Chosen. And I'm sure if you're a fan of the podcast or know me, you know how big of a fan I am of The Chosen. And so that was when Daryl was on stage talking about it and talking about how he wanted to give an authentic Jesus that Generation Z, this newer generation, could relate to in a medium that they frequent, which is our phones, and it was just amazing. So that was the beginning. And through that show, I really did connect and had a deeper relationship with Jesus and an understanding where, you know, Because to me, look, I'm not a reader. I didn't like reading in school. My mom couldn't attest when I was a kid, five years old, and teaching us to read and all that kind of stuff. I didn't like reading. To this day, it makes me tired, literally. If I read two or three pages, it puts me to sleep. I don't care what time of day it is. I'm just not a reader, right? We all have different ways that we ingest information. Some people are visual, some people are audio, some people are touch. We all have these different senses. And I'm much more audio, and wouldn't you know I'm doing a podcast that you're listening to, so chances are you're an audio learner as well. So the long and short of it is that in this new world that we found ourselves in after 2020, went to a mastermind to learn how to better reach a billion people by 2025 this year about the power of the miracle plant especially in the raw form and which led me to Russell's mastermind which he's obviously the greatest on the planet at sales and marketing and selling online. And he's taught me so much over the years and eventually we became business partners on Secrets of Success, which we have something really cool coming up, which I'll be talking about next episode. We filmed the documentary of our partnership and our journey with Napoleon Hill Foundation and the $20 million of books and the library and private jets and mystery and intrigue and ups and downs and villains. And it was just funny to me that I went and joined Russell's mastermind called Inner Circle, which was $50,000 a year. And business wasn't very good. There was a lot of uncertainty. We had a lot of established relationships. You know, working with chiropractors, you know, online sales were, it was not really much of a thing for us. It was more, it was more physical world. We were opening new stores and expanding, even looking into opening internationally. And then COVID just shut all that down and stopped everything. So I joined this mastermind thinking that, okay, I need help. I need to understand how to do marketing better, how to do online sales better. And it led me to The Chosen. And I did learn those things. Oh my gosh, did I ever. I learn every day. But it led me to The Chosen, which led me to Jesus, which led me to where I am now, standing on a beach talking to you on a podcast called Roots to Riches. about what I found when I was able to get in alignment with my assignment, which is do God's will. So in Our Father, it says, Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. So those are the words we're going to talk about. Thy kingdom come. So, To me, that resonated with me. And again, Myron Golden was the first person that kind of pointed this out to me, which really resonated. First to me, I was always thinking, thy kingdom come that will be done and earth is in heaven. It felt like, you know, heaven was a place that I was trying to get to. Thy kingdom come, now means to me as I get in alignment with my assignment and the reason and the purpose why I was here and those that I was that I have been assigned to protect and provide for which is my family and loved ones that I can help to make sure that I'm doing the thing that that I'm best at. How can I best help people? And I have been praying hard about it, because to be quite frank, the economy, the marketplace for CBD, especially here in California where it's basically illegal. You know, I had been launching many different businesses, and for whatever reason, there wasn't a lot of wins. There was a lot of hard work, there was a lot of hope, there was a lot of continuing to learn from my mistakes and move forward, but the wins weren't coming. And if you follow this podcast, you can hear a lot about those launches and ideas and product launches and partnerships and offers, which is great for me documenting my own journey to go back. So the crazy thing happened was, you know, about six months ago, I was again, praying like crazy. Today was our last men's ministry meetup for the year. We're taking the summer off. We're actually going to read a book called Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis, which I've started listening to on Audible because I don't read, can read, don't like to. And we had like a nice, we did a breakfast burrito. I was in charge, the lead cook and turned out great. scrambled eggs, hash browns, homemade guacamole. We call it guacamole because my wife Molly makes the guacamole. It's delicious. We have some avocado trees on our property. Anyways, I digress again. But as I was you know, going deep in my faith and, you know, deepening my relationship with Jesus and even in the Catholic Church. And, you know, I go to adoration once a week and, you know, I've gone very, very deep. In fact, I've even, I'm studying and applied to be a deacon. in the Catholic Church, which is a big commitment. It's five years to go through the process. And it's a pretty rigorous process, which I'm all for. Because again, I want to be in alignment with my assignment. Thy kingdom come. So what is it that I'm supposed to be doing here, right? It's not my will, but yours. Thy will be done. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done. So as the kingdom of heaven, the kingdom, so the king and his dominion, which is of heaven and here on earth, what is it that I'm supposed to be doing? Why was I created? Why am I here on earth? Right? You know, obviously I can share the stories and the meaning, as I understand them, of, you know, Yahshua, Jesus, you know, as He was here 2,000 years ago, which we've talked about on here. You know, we've definitely gone down the rabbit hole of cannabis and the original Hebrew of cannabis, which was a revelation to me, just so cool. Because I loved how it tied Jesus and his mission and my mission of healing a billion people by 2025 about the power of raw cannabis, a.k.a. cannabis. So that felt really aligned. And I still get comments on YouTube, but it hasn't blown up, right? Like for me, it's like, when you're in alignment with your assignment, that kingdom come, that will be done on earth as it is in heaven, then there will be signs, right? There will be doors that open. that are giving you indications that, yes, this is what you should be doing. And so like I said six months ago, when I was, you know, launching new companies and new products and new partnerships and just continuing to do whatever I felt called to do, whatever made the most sense to me, whatever came to me in prayer, I remember in the beginning of going to Russell's mastermind, inner circle mastermind. And when I found out that people were selling these masterminds like Russell's and other types of masterminds and coaching programs and this whole online world that I did not know existed. I mean, I had gone, I think it was before COVID, I'm pretty sure. I'm not even positive that's true. But sometime around then, I'll have to look at my calendar to see, but I went to a Tony Robbins event. And at the end of an in-person event, yeah, it must've been before COVID, he had something called the Platinum Partners, or the Plats. And I think that one was $75,000 to join. And so, and I went down the rabbit hole with that. I didn't join, but I, you know, jumped through some hoops and talked to some people and ultimately it wasn't meant to be because I didn't have $75,000 at the time. And if it was God's will, then I would have had access to it. And it wasn't. And so that was kind of my first understanding that there was this, these business communities, that's what masterminds are, where you get together with other like-minded, like-valued people to help solve problems, you know, business problems, entrepreneurial problems. And we help each other. You know, it's like you're having a bunch of partners, but you're not sharing in the profits or the equity of the company. You're just helping each other because you're good people. And yes, you do network there to find other people that you might be able to do some business with called a joint venture or JV. So that was the beginning of my understanding of it. But when COVID hit, And there was, I was really opened up to the virtual aspects of it. Not the physical show up at a Tony Robbins event, but the virtual event of hosting a webinar or a video sales letter or a challenge, like a five day challenge. And then at the end, they would offer this, you know, what's called a high ticket offer. And so I'm in Russell's Mastermind with all these great people, you know, my chosen family, as I like to say. And then I find out that there's another mastermind, another level called Category Kings. And in that group, they are selling, so that one costs $150,000 a year in Russell's mastermind. And so, and then Russell was talking or we were talking, at some meeting or function. And he said that everyone, pretty much everyone in that group was selling their high-ticket coaching or their high-ticket mastermind or whatever their high-ticket offer was, and they were driving from a video, whether it's like a video on a website, which is called a video sales letter, VSL, or a challenge, which is like a five-day or a three-day challenge, which would drive to book a call, which means people would get on the phone. And he said everyone in the group, there was like 14 or so people in the group, were doing that. And that's where they were having their revenue stream, their main source of revenue driving. video to phone call. So when I found that out, I about fainted. I was so excited, I called my wife Molly and I was like, oh my gosh, you won't believe it. The thing that I have the most experience in, the thing that I have the most expertise in, which is communications over the telephone. is what this high-end mastermind is doing. And the cool thing was that Russell was teaching everybody how to do things online, how to do these presentations called Perfect Webinars and Challenges and VSLs. But nowhere in the group was anyone talking about, well, how do you convert those high ticket offers after you've done your presentation, right? You just drive them to a landing page and they either sign up or they don't. And then some of these guys were driving to a book a call, you know, this higher mastermind. And I was like, yeah, that's it. I can be in alignment with my assignment. I can share my 30 years of knowledge because I've run large sales organizations, large and small. very successfully, seven figures and multiple seven figures. And so I launched a challenge originally, called Convert High Ticket. And I got Richmond Dinn, who's now one of my clients for Convert High Ticket, full circle. And Damon Burton, who's the SEO king, works with Tony Robbins and Russell and others. But I got sidetracked. The shiny object syndrome, I lost focus. because I ended up doing the challenge and then when you, I was interviewing all my new friends in the inner circle that were speaking at the challenge including the great Robbie Summers who was you know fundamental in me even being able to get into the inner circle. He also spoke there on the challenge. Well the challenge ended up being more about how to maybe launch and scale a high-ticket offer. I got away from what I knew. I got caught up in the minutia. I got caught up in the excitement of doing something more than the original download, if you will, or the whisper from God. So instead of helping people who had high-ticket offers convert those high-ticket offers and double their sales by the fortunes in the follow-up, I made it something more than it was. I had the challenge quickly, but I did it. I did the thing. We went live. We had it on Zoom. I even had it on what was called deadline funnels. So we had like countdown timers and we had, you know, we were able to send traffic to it, paid traffic to it. You know, which is kind of like an auto webinar. But for whatever reason, it didn't really take off, right? And it didn't really hit. I didn't spend a lot of money on it. But again, the reason why it probably didn't work was because the messaging was not in alignment with what… I knew I could do. I was doing something more. I got caught up in the moment. I got caught up in the excitement of helping people launch their own high ticket offers versus helping people that already had high ticket offers and helping them double their sales and convert it on the backend. So anyways, I did my thing. I tried it for like, for me, it's usually I try things for three to six months. You know, we ran some ads. I didn't see like the sales or I didn't, I didn't see the end result, whether it was leads, conversion on the landing page. That's always kind of been my sticking point that I've noticed over the last four or five years doing this and even longer is that, you know, it's one thing to send traffic or send good traffic. It's another thing to get them to go to a landing page. And, you know, just get an opt-in, get an email address or the next step is, you know, get them to sign up or buy something. And so, I didn't see the results after three to six months and then the next shiny object came along. And I don't even remember what it was. I have to go back in the podcast. I know I… Worked with Dr. Fab and the chiropractic world because I was still doing the CBD thing. So that was exciting and there were some other ventures too. One connection away with my good friend Christopher Voss. And so I got the download but I didn't stick to it. I took my eye off the ball. It wasn't, you know, evil or nefarious or bad intentions. It just is what it is. So the reason I say all this was so six months ago, I'm sitting there and kind of racking our brains and, you know, looking for what's the next thing. I mean, I'm praying hard. I'm praying every day. I'm praying rosaries. I'm going to adoration, going to church three, four times a week. I mean, I'm just like, you know, I just feel lost, right? And it's like, The mission of reaching a billion people by 2025, I still want to do that if that's God's will, that will be done. But it wasn't happening, right? I mean, California shutting down CBD sales, the economy shifting and people not wanting to invest in their own health. I mean, I see that at our store here in Ventura, right? I mean, 18, 24 months ago, I watched the money start to dwindle. People stopped showing up. And so it was like, well, I can't support, you know, and provide and protect for my family with that avenue. Like I, you know, and it's still a mission and I still want to do it and I still do it every day. I just helped someone out, Kim, who came in and she was in a lot of pain, got her some CBD and some sublingual oils and some topicals. But I knew that I literally couldn't survive doing that. So I had to do something else to protect and provide for my family. And so like I said, six months ago, I'm sitting here thinking, I'm like, okay, so what's the thing? What's the thing? Well, even 12 months ago, roughly, I had met Eileen Wilder probably three or four years ago. maybe longer. She's in Russell's inner circle, and she's awesome. And I had met her husband and Harrison, and we were in a hotel lobby and had a chance to chat it up a little bit. Anyways, I was going through one of her challenges, which I'm going to have a link to her challenge here pretty soon that you can click on. Hopefully, I'll actually put it in the show notes, the Supernova Challenge, which teaches people how to do high-ticket offers. And so anyways, I took it like, I don't know, 12 months ago, let's say. And at the end, the book of call went to Harrison. And so then I got on the phone with Harrison. It was actually a zoom call. And I was like, Hey, Harrison, how's it going? I go, well, you're the last person on the earth. I would think that I would be talking to, to, um, you know, get signed up for the program. And he's like, yeah, well, you know, we've tried some other companies and people and, hadn't really worked out and I didn't really mind doing it. So, I was like, okay, well, I was like, well, I think, you know, I could certainly help you or get someone in there that could help you and you could, you know, be more, you know, it's like the difference between working in the business versus working on the business. And whenever possible, you want to be working on the business, not in the business. It's the difference between being a business operator and a business owner. And so I just mentioned him something, and I think he had just hired someone or tried someone new. And I was just like, well, I know a lot of people and I have a lot of experience on it, so let me help. If there's anything I can do to help, let's do it. So anyways, fast forward six months, which is now six months ago. I think I went through the challenge again. I believe that's what happened. And then, wouldn't you know, I booked a call and Harrison was there again. I was just like, what's up, dude? And I go, so I guess the new sales guys or the new sales company didn't work out. He's like, no, no, not really. I go, look, at the end of the day, I, I know what you do. I know what you sell. I love what you do. I said, let me, you know, and my process, let me, let me, let me help you out. And Harrison said, yes. He said, okay, man, like go for it. And one thing led to another and now they were essentially the first legit client for Convert High Ticket that we initially launched four years ago to help awesome clients and companies with you know life-changing high-ticket offers and so full circle it it happened which to me was crazy because and I was talking to my wife about I was just like And the business is blowing up, and we've got new clients like Richard Dinn, and I'm gonna go fly out to Myron's event and talk to him about working with him and his back end, helping improve their reach and impact. And I was like, well, what's the lesson? You know what I mean? Because now all the doors are opening up, and I'm seeing this very positive signs You know, just a lot of win-wins for all involved. It's like, okay, I'm in alignment with my assignment. But I was asking, like, so what's… Why did I have to go through four years of launching businesses and offers and partnerships and having, you know, mild to moderate success just to go full circle back to what I originally knew was the right thing for me to do. And to be honest, I don't know what that is. I don't know the answer to that. I'm still preying on it. I'm still thinking about it. You know, the real simple truth that I could come up with now is that When you get that message from God, those whispers from God, as my buddy Glenn Morshauer likes to say, that you stay true to them. Don't compromise. Don't add to them. Don't get caught up in the excitement or the shiny object, is what we call it. You know, the next shiny object syndrome. And it was a pretty hard lesson for me to learn. I mean, there were some very difficult times we went through. I mean, obviously number one, we were trying to keep the, uh, and we still are trying to keep the CBD business going, right? It's not just CBD, it's, it's, it's cold pressed cannabis, cold pressed hemp. It's, it's a miracle what it did for my son and helping him overcome his severe autism diagnosis. What helps pain and stress and sleep and just about anything you can think of. So that'll never go away. Um, But it's just what was, I still, I'm so grateful, I'm so blessed that I found this original path that I started on four years ago. you know, all the doors are opening up, all the partnerships are opening up, the revenue streams are opening up. It's like, it's like, that's the thing, right? It's like, that's what you want. You want the positive feedback. Like, okay, I'm on the right path. God, you're giving me the signs and I'm grateful. And I guess, like I said, I want to know what the lesson was because there's always a lesson. You know, number one, the lesson was I found God, I found Jesus in a deeper level, the deepest level I've ever had. What a blessing is that? I went through true hardships, trying to, you know, we were burning through our savings and retirement accounts, credit card debt, you know, to try and figure out what, you know, was the miracle plan, was that gonna be my mission on earth? And like I said, it still is, but it's not gonna, it wasn't and isn't able to, provide and protect my family. So what was the next thing? And it's convert high ticket, which I'm so blessed. I'm so happy for, and I'm great at it. And I'm going to help a lot of people have a lot of impact and make some income. I tell you what, you know, God was in a, is an abundant being. And when you have more income, you can make more impact. Mother Teresa didn't do all that she did with a smile. She fundraised and had got into those offices and had those difficult conversations sometimes to get people to donate to her cause, helping out impoverished poor countries and their citizens. So again, I'm just sharing with you through, and that ultimately, again, it's just funny that I go to join this mastermind to figure out how to live in this new virtual world, how to sell more products, but then I end up finding and receiving the blessing of a deeper relationship with Jesus through The Chosen, through my faith, through my church. So it's just funny, like sometimes it's like, You can't always get what you want. You might try sometimes, but you might find you get what you need. Right? The Old Stones. So, that's my message for today. I hope something resonated with you. If you're struggling right now, trying to find your assignment, I would just I would just say for me it was a lot of praying, a lot of soul searching. There was a lot of surrendering. I surrendered to Jesus. I surrendered to God. I said, I can't do this anymore. I've done all I can do. I'm out of options. I don't have anything left. There's nothing else I can do because I've tried everything I can do. You know, there's like that Carrie Underwood song, you know, Jesus take the wheel. Excuse me. And that's what I did. Humility. Willingness to do whatever signs of doors that he opened for me. And I'm just. I'm blessed and so appreciative and so grateful that I get to live a life of abundance. Show my kids that even when there's adversity and there's rough seas that you persevere and you'll get through it. And now they get to see that. And they can have the courage to chase their dreams. their desires, their God-given callings, and know that even when they don't know which way to look or turn or which way is up or down, that if they place their faith in God, if they surrender, if they persevere, if they let go of control, that they too will find the path that they were meant to walk.
