Justin Benton: [00:00:00] What's up, everybody. welcome to day three here on the boost, your health and boost your wealth challenge. Ow. So thanks for coming back. Happy to have you here. Um, we have some exciting stuff to talk about today. We're gonna talk about the path to mental, to maximum, uh, mental clarity. So, uh, I know, uh, you know, as we get older and, you know, as life has more responsibilities or, you know, things just kind of add up.
Sometimes, uh, it can be a little difficult to get that brain fire in the way we want. So, um, we've got some cool hacks to talk about today. Some bio hacks and, uh, just wanted to kind of go through 'em point by point for you. And, uh, I think, you know, some of this we probably already know, but sometimes it's a good reminder to kind of jog the memory of things that can help, but I guarantee you, there's some things you're gonna learn today, uh, that you've never heard before.
So let's get started. [00:01:00] So we're gonna cover, um, nine different points today that talk about, uh, mental clarity. Uh, the first thing you can do, uh, is change your diet. And, uh, for those of you that know our story, have we got started with, uh, our son diagnosed with a severe neurological ailment? Um, that's the first thing that we did.
And, um, it, it, there was a lot of research out there that showed that when you removed things like gluten and dairy, And, and even processed foods and artificial sweeteners and refined sugars, uh, there was just a lot of good results and that's how all of our bodies work. So that's the first thing we did for our child, but that's the first thing we should be doing for ourselves, right.
Uh, what we are, what we eat literally. And, uh, you know, in this day and age, You know, commercials and lifestyle and travel and fast food and all those kinds of things. Um, it can be pretty easy to just kind of fall into that rut of, you know, swinging through the drive through, [00:02:00] or, you know, man, that, that, that, that burger really smells good.
Or that pizza that they're throwing at you, the commercials all the time. Um, you know, we all have those moments of weakness. So, uh, first thing you can do to improve mental clarity is change your diet. Uh, you know, for us, again, we replaced the gluten, the dairy, the refined sugars, processed foods with organic juicing was really the thing.
So whole plant, whole foods, you know, we use, um, you know, every morning we make our juice with, uh, kale and apples and oranges and lemons, all organic. Uh, as well as, uh, uh, carrots and celery, um, and, uh, lots and lots of fresh hemp, uh, flower that, uh, grows in our backyard and, uh, as well as out there in the field.
So first things first, uh, you want that mental clarity change your diet. So that would be what I would recommend doing. Second thing you can do to help with your mental health and get that, uh, me, [00:03:00] uh, maximum mental clarity is try a cleanse, a detox or a fast, and these have become very popular, uh, over the past few years.
Uh, there's lots of different methods, lots of different things to try. So I would recommend that you do your research and find something that makes sense to you. Like literally, it makes logical sense to you to do it. Um, you know, there's lots of different cleanses, uh, out there, uh, that, you know, eliminate, uh, you know, food, bad foods and toxins and things like that.
and, uh, you know, cleansing, like, you know, getting rid of, um, you know, sugar, caffeine or excessive carbs, uh, is another way to go about it. You know, there's also fast. There's been, uh, some juicing fast that I've tried over the days. And I know Russell just did a five day water fast with, uh, his CEO, Dave at click funnels, which I thought was pretty wild and crazy.
Uh, I haven't geared up for that one. I'm gonna somehow try it, but I think maybe I'm gonna try one [00:04:00] day. And then maybe work my way up to five days. So, um, and I also need to do more research on it and see if it makes sense to me logically, uh, and how it all, uh, comes to be. But I know there there's a book out.
Um, that, uh, his friend wrote some, I think it's Dave beats cancer. I'll have to look that up. I'll put that in the, in the comments that talks about, uh, how he beat cancer by eating right and doing these kinds of things. So, uh, that's where the water fast came from. So that's another thing you can do. Try a cleanse, detox or fast, uh, number three, use essential oils.
So there's lots of essential oils out there that can help that are very therapeutic. Um, some of the essential oils that, uh, that I'd recommend, uh, is Rosemary, peppermint, and lemon Bal. And, uh, they're just really soothing as well as lavender, uh, is another one that's a real soothing, um, essential oils and essential oils have these things called terpenes, which are the [00:05:00] smell that actually, um, Unlock or, or stimulate parts of our brain that make a, that allow us to feel a certain way.
So like lavender might help you feel more relaxed. Peppermint might help you feel more spirited or lifted, uh, along with Rosemary and lemon Bal. So be sure to check out, uh, essential oils as well. Uh, next thing is, uh, sleep right. Get some sleep. You know, all of our bodies are different. Some people only need four or five hours a night.
Uh, I know like Einstein like slept like two hours at a time throughout the day, took little power naps. Uh, but most of us need around seven to eight hours of sleep every night. So figuring out how to get seven or eight hours of sleep every night. The absolute best way for your body to heal and recharge as long with your brain and getting that maximum mental clarity.
Now, I know it's easier said than done, but really figuring out a sleep, you know, ritual that works for you, uh, is just critical for [00:06:00] you to having your brain and mental clarity at, at maximum state. So, you know, make sure that you're, you're trying things, you know, a lot of people talk about the blue lights.
Whether you wear blue light glasses or you'd get electronics completely out, uh, of the bedroom. So you don't have that at all. Um, you know, within like an hour, um, that you're figuring out things that work for you that make sure that you get some sleep. Um, you know, there's, there's great sleep meditations.
There's. The beta beats, um, you know, B narrow beats, figuring out things that, you know, for a fan, like I like white noise, you know, a cool dark room night shades that, that, that block out all the light. Um, there's these things that, you know, really figure out what works best for you and make sleeper priority because really.
You there's just no chance of having, you know, maximum mental clarity without a good night's sleep. As we all know, if you're operating on four or five hours of sleep, um, you know, you can get away with it for a few days, but over time it's really [00:07:00] taxing on your brain and body. So get that sleep. Number five, right in a journal.
Uh, I know we talked, uh, yesterday, uh, and the day before about, uh, a journal. This is the one I'm using right now. From John Lee Dumas, the mastery, uh, journal. So get one that works for you, uh, journals can be really way, a great way to kind of set your day up and put you at ease and then, you know, kind of unload what you learned in the day, give yourself credit and maybe set up the next day as well and helps you get into that routine.
Like we talked about and getting into that rhythm. So make sure that you're doing some journaling. It's really powerful, uh, for people. And, uh, so definitely I recommend checking it out. Next one, number six of the secrets is take out meditation. Uh, meditation can mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people.
I figure out what makes the most sense to you. I know there's apps like calm that are out there. I think even Netflix had a cool, uh, meditation, uh, series that I liked. My favorite [00:08:00] meditation is Deepak Chopra. Um, so be sure to maybe check him out. He's got some free stuff on YouTube and he has some apps as well.
Uh, there's just lots of great meditations out there. There's guided meditations. Deepak does guided meditations and there's also non guided or unguided meditations that are just music and you get into your own state. So, uh, meditation I've seen over and over again. Helping people unlock their maximum mental, uh, clarity as well as, you know, a lot.
Some people will just sit in, in, in silence and, and, and just breathe and focus on their breath. Uh, some people will have, you know, affirmations. Some people will ask themselves great questions. Uh, you know, you have to find what works best for you. And obviously a lot of people will do prayer and, and have that daily ritual, whether it's in the beginning and the, of their day or at the end of their day, those things that get them connected.
So, uh, highly, highly recommend if you're looking for that maximum mental clarity that you check out, uh, meditation as [00:09:00] well. Next one is, uh, exercise. Get your fitness on. We all know how important that is, whether it's just getting 20 minutes of, uh, some type of exercise in the morning or doing it in the afternoon or the evening right now, again, I'm doing that 75 hard.com, which is just crazy.
And, uh, you're doing 2 45 minute workout. So it's, uh, it's more working out than I've done probably since my high school, uh, baseball football days, but. But anyways, it's great. Uh, but just make sure that, uh, you're figuring out a way to, to exercise, you know, at least every other day, if not every day, uh, beginning 20 minutes.
And that can just be a power walk around the park, uh, you know, Peloton exercise machine, whatever it is that works for you, but, uh, figure out a routine. Sometimes it's great to. Start a challenge like the 75 hard.com or something that kind of keeps you accountable. Or you have a buddy that you do it with a workout buddy that will help you get outta bed on those [00:10:00] cold mornings, uh, when you're just not quite feeling like it.
So that's number seven for the secrets there. Number eight is, uh, try mind clearing herbs. Um, the two that, uh, that I recommend is, uh, American gin saying, and, uh, Ginko below, uh, gin saying is a powerful root, uh, that grows around the world. Uh, several different varieties. Again, we work with American gin saying that's what I, uh, recommend, uh, Jining uh, helps people decre, uh, de.
Decrease stress, uh, and improved thinking. Um, and so you just find, uh, you know, you can find, and obviously make sure it's organic as well. Uh, Ginko baloba is a traditional Chinese medicine, um, that, uh, is like a leaf. And, uh, it supports overall brain health and health, uh, brain healthy circulation, which can, uh, affect mental alertness.
So those are the two herbs that I would recommend you checking out and number nine, um, on the final secret [00:11:00] here for maximizing mentalities, take the right supplements. So the right supplements is probiotics. There's a great company called sun writer, uh, that we use, uh, our whole family uses that that has the best, uh, probiotics that we've come across over our years of research, uh, and probiotics.
Can really have a role in your mental wellness? Uh, a lot of our, um, you know, dopamines and, and serotonin levels are actually created in the gut, like 90%. So the, the feelings that we've experience believe it or not, we have what's called a gut brain. So making sure that your, your biomes and your probiotics and your gut is working and healthy, uh, is, is one of the most important things you can do for.
Your body. So, um, and you can just add probiotics. You can also take things that have probiotics in them. Um, I recommend there's also prebiotics, which you're eating like beans and things like that. That will turn into probiotics. So make sure you're getting your probiotics. You're [00:12:00] getting good probiotics.
That that really work for you, and that are really doing the trick to get cuz your, your gut is kind of your overall immune system and where your health really comes from. And that was what we cleaned up and, and really helped our son was when we started getting his gut biome. Correct. Um, so really check really advice, check in out that as well.
So the name of that company, again, was sun rider. Check that out. Uh, B vitamins is the next supplement that we recommend. You know, and, and, you know, B6 and B12, uh, you can get those, whether you take those, uh, in pills or you take, uh, you know, things that have lots of B vitamins, like hemp, which has, uh, uh, like 90% of the, of the B vitamins that you'll need in a day.
So, uh, the next is omega threes. A lot of the, our unfortunate processed food diets have a high omega six S which is a lot of infl has led to a lot of inflammation and imbalance with our brains and our bodies. So make sure you're eating lots of omega three S and wouldn't, you know, that the [00:13:00] best source of a perfect balance of omega threes is in hemp seed oil.
